New Ecologist Joins the Team in Time for Summer Survey Season

Sean Vanner has joined Baker Consultants this month, bringing with him over four years of experience across a variety of species and habitat surveys, as well as being certified for river condition (MoRPh) assessment surveys, which are now a mandatory part of the BNG process.

Sean also has a keen interest in developing his invertebrates skill and will support Dave, Jed and Meg as part of our specialist in-house invertebrate team.

Sean developed an interest in invertebrates during his time at university, where he focused his research projects on pollinating insects. Since graduating he has volunteered for various wildlife groups, alongside his day-to-day consultancy commitments, gaining experience in both butterfly transects and light-trap surveys for moths.

“I am really looking forward to getting stuck in with a range of surveys as part of the team at Baker Consultants – not just inverts – as I’m sure there’ll be lots of reptile and bat work too. The variety of work and innovation that the business has been involved with were just two of the reasons I wanted to join; not forgetting an improved work/life balance from working a 4-day week”

Thanks to continued growth and our incredible, growing team, Baker Consultants was recently shortlisted for the Medium Consultancy of the Year in CIEEM’s Annual Awards, and we are looking forward to the ceremony at the end of June where the winners will be announced.
