Hard Hat Recycling Done Right with Circularity Direct’s Recycling Scheme

The environment is always at the front and centre of everything we do here at Baker Consultants. It shapes how we work on site, how we advise clients and how we manage our own impact behind the scenes. That’s why we’ve joined Circularity Direct’s Hard Hat Recycling Scheme to responsibly dispose of the hard hats our team relies on every day.

Our team regularly works in environments where safety is non-negotiable, so hard hats are essential for working in hazardous environments such as forestry or construction sites, as they protect again serious head injuries from falling branches, tools or debris. But, like all personal protection equipment, they don’t last forever. Over time, wear and tear, along with strict safety standards, mean they need to be replaced.

As hard hats are made from durable, mixed materials designed to withstand impact, it makes them difficult to recycle. This means they often end up in general waste, landfill or incineration, contributing unnecessarily to environmental harm.

That’s where the Circularity Direct Hard Hat Recycling Scheme comes in. Their service is specifically designed to help businesses like ours to divert our used hard hats away from landfill, ensuring they’re broken down and processed in a way that maximises material recovery whilst meeting all relevant environmental and compliance standards.

By using this scheme, we’re actively reducing waste, supporting a more circular economy and making sure that even the equipment we retire is handled with the same level of responsibility as the work we carry out. At Baker Consultants, we’re always looking for practical ways to reduce our environmental footprint – not just in the projects we deliver, but in how we operate as a business.
