Robin graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a Biodiversity and Conservation Masters in 2022 and started his career as a seasonal surveyor quickly becoming a trusted member of the ecology team. He has a broad interest in protected species and has gained valuable experience of great crested newt, bat, water vole and reptile surveys.
Robin said, “Since joining Baker Consultants, I’ve been given the opportunity to explore a wide range of ecological responsibilities and surveys; from aquatic invertebrate sampling to peat depth surveying. Because of this freedom to explore all areas of terrestrial ecology, I have yet to find a niche to fit into. While mammals have been my primary interest since university, in the last year, I specifically focused on developing my skills in plant identification and habitat surveying; achieving a Level 3 in my FISC assessment was a real highlight.”
Gavin Ward, Consultancy Director, commented; “We’re really excited when people join us with such enthusiasm early in their career. When they’ve got an idea of what they’d like to achieve, it’s great to be able help them grow and develop as a part of the team, all while nurturing their interests and passions. Robin has approached all areas of his role with an energy and commitment that meant he has learnt a lot and very quickly, and we’re delighted to be able to reward him for that with this promotion.”
