Dave Goddard to Represent the British Dragonfly Society at Staffordshire Invertebrate Science Fair

Baker Consultants’ Dave Goddard, Invertebrate Specialist, will be representing the British Dragonfly Society at this year’s Staffordshire Invertebrate Science Fair at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday 5 March.

The Staffordshire Invertebrate Science Fair is a free wildlife conservation awareness event that offers numerous stalls, activities and various keynote speakers who will be providing their specialist knowledge on invertebrates. Everyone from all walks of life, including families, students or professionals, can come along and learn more about the lives of invertebrates, from chatting to the experts to partaking in fun activities that encourage getting involved in invertebrate conservation in the UK.

Dave, also fondly known as ‘Dragonfly Dave’ amongst his peers, will be representing the British Dragonfly Society stand at the event, on-hand to answer any questions the public might have and provide his decades of expertise on dragonflies. He will also be hosting a number of activities for children to enjoy, including crafting their own dragonfly models to take home as a souvenir from the day.

In line with the recent publication of The State of Dragonflies Report, Dave will also be discussing the fascinating lives and histories of dragonflies and damselflies and the conservation efforts that can be taken in order to further protect them, such as habitat management and enhancement.
