Baker Consultants Are Pleased to Welcome Two New Ecologists to the Team: Ian Stephens & Alice Palmer

As the survey season gathers pace, we are delighted to have two new experienced Ecologists join the growing team at Baker Consultants

The 2022 ecology survey season is now in full swing and we are seeing a very high demand for our services, something that is replicated right across the industry.

As a result, it is great to be able to announce that Ian Stephens and Alice Palmer have recently joined the Baker Consultants team as Ecologists, both bringing a range of complementary skills to the team. They were in high demand, so it is even more pleasing that they saw the benefits of joining our team, where we are looking forward to helping them both develop their own passions and skills.

Ian has over 10 years’ experience in ecological consultancy and has worked on projects spanning energy, infrastructure, solar farms and numerous residential developments. He holds Natural England Class 1 Survey Licences for bats and great crested newts and is experienced in surveying other protected species, including badgers, otters, water voles and reptiles.

Alice also holds Natural England Class 1 Survey Licences for bats and great crested newts. These sit alongside her experience in a range of other protected species surveys, UKHAB surveys and use of the Biodiversity Net Gain metric. She is a generalist ecologist with a keen interest in birds, which includes learning to ring them at observatories in Canada.
